Samsung gives a hint for its upcoming smartwatch with circular display

There has been quite a talk going on these days regarding the circular display smartwatch from Korean tech giant Samsung. The company has today confirmed all the previous rumors wherein a recent press release by the company announced that the company is planning to unveil the SDK for its next-gen smartwatch before officially unveiling it. The blog post from the company contains a teaser image of a smartwatch with circular display. However, note that this is not the official confirmation but a big hint towards that direction.

This would be the seventh smartwatch from the company in its Gear line-up. The smartwatch would be code named with Orbis and could be branded as the Samsung Gear A. Unlike the other smatwatches from the Gear family, the Gear A would be based on the Tizen operating system as Samsung wants its own OS for its smart wearables. The teaser image shows the company to be working with other developers like FidMe, Yelp, Baidu, CNN and Apposter.

However, some of the previous rumors claim that the company would be launching two version of the Orbis/ Gear A smartwatch. The basic of the two would be having Bluetooth connectivity while the advanced would be having a 3G connectivity wherein users would be able to place direct calls from the wristware. Additional rumors include the wearable to be having a rotating dial, wireless charging capabilities and a crown shaped power button. Take a look at the teaser image.
