Samsung Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Rumored to Use Different Processors

Samsung is expected to release two new devices soon, Samsung Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. It is rumored that both devices will be having a 5.67-inch Super AMOLED display screen with 1440 x 2560 resolutions which is the same resolution as Note 4 and S6 series. However, the difference is that Note 5 will come with flat display while S6 Edge Plus will come with dual curved edges.

According to the rumors, the upcoming two devices will be featuring glass back cover. If it is true then most probably Note 5 will come with a non-removable battery and without the microSD card slot. However, there is no confirmation till to date.

On the hardware side, Note 5 will be running on Samsung’s very own Exynos 7422 chipset which is designed to be the first all-in-on SoC.  Exynos 7422 chipset will include all the important internal components which include CPU, GPU, RAM, internal storage and LTE modem in one chipset. Apparently, the LTE modem which is used in the chipset is Samsung’s exclusive “Shannon” LTE modem. However, the performance of this chipset is still unknown when compared with the octa-core processor which is used in Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

On the other hand, for the hardware side, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be running on Qualcomm hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset. It will have a 32GB internal storage size, 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, 5MP front camera and 3000 mAh battery size.

On the software side, it is rumored that the two upcoming devices will be pre-installed with Samsung TouchWiz user interface which is running on top of Android 5.1 OS which hopefully will solve the RAM management issues which currently found in Galaxy S6 series.
