Twitter’s New Feature Highlights to Deliver New Notifications to Android

Twitter has released a new feature called Highlights which summarize the current trending topics on your account. Before this new feature is released, when you want to check what are the trending topics from the accounts you follow, you will need to open the Twitter apps, wait for it to load and then the trending topic will appear on the screen.

With the new Highlights feature, you do not have to do all that. Highlights will summarize the most important tweets and trending topics from the accounts that you follow in the form of push notification. Some of you might find notification will be quite intrusive as it will keep on delivering the topics nonstop. However, do not worry, since Highlights will deliver the synopsis twice a day.

Below are the steps on how to enable it on your Android:

  1. Download here for the latest 5.56 Twitter version from Play Store.

  2. Open the Twitter app and tap on overflow icon and the Settings menu will be opened.

  3. Select an account and tap on Mobile notification by slide the slider to “on” position.

  4. Check the box next to Highlights.

Do the above steps for all your Twitter accounts.  As Highlights only provide a summarize version of the trending topic, if you want to know the full story, you will need to tap on the notification and open the app. Highlights is currently released for Android only for testing purposes.
