Snapdragon 805 is about to revolutionize the camera utilities

The next-generation Snapdragon 805 processor created a lot of buzz in the market when chipmaker Qualcomm first announced it last September — and it’s still making noise. The processor is entering into production and should appear in the next wave of mobile  devices, such as the Galaxy S5 Prime and the HTC One M8 Prime. The hasty speed could make this a smartphone most desired one.

The Snapdragon 805 processor is the foremost mobile processor to offer system-level Ultra HD support, 4K video capture and playback and enhanced dual camera image signal processors, for multitasking, power efficiency and mobile user experiences. The processor offers Krait 450 quad-core CPU, the first mobile CPU to run at speeds of up to 2.5 GHz per core, along with memory bandwidth support of up to 25.6 GB per second that is designed to provide unprecedented multimedia and Web browsing performance.

Qualcomm is planning to integrate support for dual cameras into the upcoming Snapdragon 805. This chip will allow both stereo and depth camera processing, letting a manufacturer implement these features without significant work. The new chip will allow to take 16 megapixel burst shots while also filming video at the same time, something which not even some of the greatest cameras in the market can do. The Snapdragon 805 can also offer 3D noise reduction on videos, and the chip’s gyroscope allows for digital image stabilization.

HTC’s upcoming flagship, the One M8 Prime is powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset, featuring two cameras on the back. One is the Ultrapixel camera sensor that captures the photo, and the second one is a camera sensor that is used to calculate depth. This could mean that HTC will stick with the Duo Camera concept even for its future flagships and could also encourage other manufacturers to incorporate it  with their devices.
