Gionee Elife S7 with 5.5mm thickness and two day battery life goes official

Last year, Gionee was the first to break the ice and announce its thinnest smartphone of the world with its Elife S5.5 and Elife S5.1. Last month, the company announced that at the MWC 2015 expo it would be coming with another ultra-slim handset on March 2nd and yesterday, the promise was fulfilled. Global marketing head of Gionee, Oliver Sha took the center stage to announce the handset saying “The race to make the slimmest smartphone was getting out of hand. Going so slim is actually not benefiting user experience without the performance to back it up.


Let us discuss some of the technical specs of the device. The Gionee Elife S7 is 5.55mm thin. To its front is a 5.2inch full HD AMOLED display. Under the hood lies a 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 chipset and the memory options include 2GB of RAM memory and 16GB of internal storage. To its back has been placed a powerful 13MP camera snapper and its front hosts a 8MP secondary sensor for selfies. Even with such a thin chassis, Gionee has very successfully managed to put the camera within it. Additional good thing is that at such a low thickness, the battery life is excellent with 2750mAh the most till date in any sub 6mm handset.


The display is said to consume 25% less power and a Dark theme is supplied to additionally drop the power consumption by 30%. Additionally the Sensor Hub offered by Freeescale makes up the CPU very number of times and thus the company has promised an excellent two day operation on a single charge.


The Gionee Elife S7 is said to be released this month on March 18th in Macau and in India on April 3rd. the pricing is expected to be somewhere around $400.
