Nokia X software platform 2.0 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

Earlier today, we got the news of Nokia unveiling its Nokia X2 smartphone which is powered with Nokia’s X software platform version 2.0. Recent reports show that this software version is however dependent on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version.

However the first iteration of Nokia’s Android version that was launched in Nokia X, X+ and XL was based on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The updated code base for the Nokia X2 has been mentioned in Nokia’s developer documentation. The framework comes with a listing as “Android, AOSP API Level 18″. Google’s official explainer has such tags, codenames ad build numbers for its mobile OS showing that this is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

However, few sources said that the latest API Level for Android is 19 that corresponds to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. But the Finnish company has quite a bit of work to be done to reach here. This latest update is only available on Nokia X2 and not on Nokia X which might prove to be a bit disappointment for the Nokia X users.
