The TEGRA K1 8-inch NVIDIA Shield tablet with game controller to be launched for $300

NVIDIA is all set to announce its 8-inch tablet along with game controller tomorrow on July 22nd and will release the devices on July 29 in US and next month on August 14 in Europe. Just a day before official announcement, the slides for the internal presentation have been leaked online.

As rumors had been going on since long, the NVIDIA Shield would be powered with the TEGRA K1 mobile chipset which is supposed to device twice the powerful GPU performance as compared to the existing platforms like Snapdragon 800 and Apple A7. The tablet with host a 8inch screen having full HD 1080p resolution with IPS display. Two stereo speakers are likely to be mounted on the front panel along with a 5MP camera at the front and back. The device would come with some connectivity options like GPS and WiFi MIMO. The NVIDIA Shield tablet will host a built-in advanced system called Direct Stylus 2 with 3D paint.

The company is also going to bring the NIDIA Shield game controller which would be compatible with the Shield tablet and other Shield hardware. This is a wireless game controller and could be connected by Wi-Fi Direct feature and comes with a Li-Ion battery inside it. The NVIDIA Shield game controller will cost $60 whereas the 16GB Wi-Fi only version of the NVIDIA Shield tablet will cost $300 and the 32GB Wi-Fi+LTE variant will cost $400.
